DIFFERENCE :

↪ Electric potential of a point is the amount of work done to bring a unit positive test charge from infinity to that point .

↪ Electric potential difference between two points is the amount of work done to move the unit positive test charge between the two points .

↪ Electric potential is based on one point only .

↪ Electric potential difference generally refers to two points .

NOTE :

The potential will be the amount of work done from a very far distance outside the electric field to that point .

It is not infinity actually but it refers to any distance where there is no electric field .

The potential difference has an SI Unit of volts ( v ) .

It is directly proportional to the current and the constant is resistance .

Electric potential :-

◻️ Definition ⤵️⤵️

The amount of work done in moving a charge from any infinitive point to any point a in an electric field.

◻️ Unit ⤵️⤵️

Coloumb

◻️ Formula ⤵️⤵️

V = W/Q

Potential Difference :-

◻️ Definition ⤵️⤵️

The amount of work done in moving a charge from any point a to b in an electric field.

◻️ Unit ⤵️⤵️

Volt

◻️ Formula ⤵️⤵️

Potential difference = Va-Vb
