Given,

The volume of a cube is given by the polynomial

p(x) =  {x}^{3}  - 6 {x}^{2}  +  12x - 8 \\  \\  =  >  {x}^{3}  -  {2}^{3}  - 3 \times 2 \times x(x - 2) \\  \\  =  > (x - 2) {}^{3}  \\ Side \: of \: the \: cube = x - 2

Now, when the sides of the cube= 3cm

Volume= (3cm)^3 = 27cm^3

Or

x-2= 3

=) x= 3+2

=) x= 5

And Volume

=) 5^3-6×5^2+12×5-8

=) 125-150+60-8

=) 27

Hope it helps ☺️
