a splitting method is a method just to solve the equation by another way.

Explanation:

in splitting method there will be given an equation like this x^2+8x+12

then we've to do is take a second and the third term i.e 8 and 12 , and in your mind you find such numbers that we get the second term i.e 8 by doing plus or minus of any two numbers as we can say 5+3=8 , and find such numbers that we can get the third term i.e 12 by doing only multiplication of any two numbers as we can say 6*2=12, now what to do is we have to check whether the following numbers are the same numbers? no they aren't same! it should be 6+2=8 and 6*2=12 , ok? this we have get the same number 6,2 ,right? ok then replace the middle term by 6+2, we get x^2+6x+2x+12x, now we have 4 terms! now take the x common from 1st and 2nd term ,we get x(x+6),same thing do with 3rd and 4th term, we get 2(x+6),now combine them i.e we get x(x+6)+2(x+6),now remember that we should get the same numbers in the both brackets as we can see here (x+6) is common both the bracket,take (x+6)one side and those who are outside the bracket x and 2 in another side, combine them,we finally get the solution of our answer (x+6)(x+2)
