The premature form of mRNA which is produced in the human is called as heterogeneous RNA (hnRNA) this process is known as the capping of the mRNA At the 3' end of the mRNA ,there is an addition of a chain of adenine nucleotide . this is known as the poly - A tail or the tailing mechanism.

In tailing, adenine nucleotides are added at 3'-end or tail of hnRNA which is important in maintaining the stability of RNA, export from the nucleus and translation. Tailing:in this process 200 to 300 adenylate residuces gets attached at the 3 dash end of hnRNA. this process is also known as polyadenylation.
