Trigonometric functions include cos(A), sin(A), tan(A) ...... etc.

Inverse Trigonometric functions include, cos^{-1}(A) , sin^{-1}(A), tan^{-1}(A)....etc.

A major mistake point is, people think 1 / tan(A) = tan^{-1}(A) ... etc, BUT THIS IS WRONG.

1 / tan(A) ≠ tan^{-1}(A) , instead it is equal to cot(A).

In trigonometry, we find the value of a trigonometric function at a particular value.

In inverse, we find the angle for various particular function.

The inverse of any trigonometric function can be found out by taking the graph of the function and drawing its symmetric curve against the xy line.

The image below shall help you for the inverse of sin function and some useful basic formulae.

I can help you through this lesson under 10 min if you like to , let me know.
