Distance = 180 m
Displacement = 0 (returned to initial position)
time taken 60 s
Avg speed = total distance/total time
= 180/60
=3 m/s
avg velocity = displacement/ time
=0/60
=0m/s
Hope it help u.....

Length of pool = 90 m.
Name of the swimmer = Usha
Where she swims? = Long pool of 90 m.
She covers 180 m in 1 min.
She covers 90 m in 1/2 min.
Average speed, is the ratio of total distance travelled to the total time taken to cover that distance.
So average speed can be given as :
=
= 3 m/s.
Now, average velocity, is the ratio of total displacement travelled to the total time taken to cover that distance.
So average velocity can be given as :
= 0 metre/second
