Explanation:

suffix is something which we add at the end of any word ...so here for example ....the word "arrive" is a verb but when we add the suffix "al" to this word it becomes "arrival" which is a noun... in the same way in different words when suffixes are added their part of speech changes.

\huge\bold{\underline{{Suffix}}}

A suffix is a group of words that is added to a word in order to form a different word . It is also used to change a verb to noun or we can say it is usually used to convert verbs to Nouns.

For example , if the suffix 'ful' is added at the end of verb 'forget', that forms a noun that is 'forgetful'.

The most common suffixes that are being used to add at the end of nouns to make them verb.

  • ment

Example : Statement , goverment.

  • ion

Example : Completion , creation.

  • ful

Example : forgetful , useful

  • able, possible + -ity → ability, possibility (-le changes to il)
