Given: A baker's life Half of a baker's life was over before he got his degree. After that, he spent 1/9 of his life working for a big hotel. Then he started his own bakery and spent 1/5 of his life doing this. However, he had to retire at this point because of health issues and died 17 years later

To find: How old was he when he retired

Solution:

Total life lived by him

1/9+1/5

5+9/45= 14/45

We will add 17 years to it= 14/45 + 17

73.1333= 73 years
