Their surface is moist to allow oxygento dissolve. They have a very thin liningto allow oxygen to diffuse into the blood easily. Surrounded by a network of blood capillaries to pick up and transport oxygen. There is anexchange of gases between the air sacs and their surrounding capillaryblood vessels.

hope it helps
