let mass of block be m
X=density of alcohol
Y=density of water
Z=density of substance
Vi=volume inside the solution
then
mg=XVig
ZV=X*3/8*V
Z=0.8*3/8
therefore density of substance is 0.3
now in water
we know that density of water is 1
ZVg=YViG
0.3V=1*Vi
therefore 3/10th part will be inside water
hope this helps.
