The numbers which cannot be expressed as a/b where a and b are integers and b€0 are called Irrational numbers.Infact,all non-terminating and non-recurring are Irrational numbers. non-recurring means which are not repeated.

Example-:

 \sqrt{2}

The numbers which can be expressed as a/b where a and b both are integers and b€0 are called rational numbers.

Example-:3/7, -3/11
