Hola Brainlians!!

A simple question for you all.
Use graph paper for this question.

(Take 2 cm=1 unit along both X-axis and
y-axis.)

Plot the points O(0, 0), A(-4,4), B(-3, 0) and
C(0, -3)

(i) Reflect points A and B· on the y-axis and
name them A' and B' respectively. Write
down their co-ordinates.

(ii) Name the Figure OABCB'A'

(iii) State the line of symmetry of this figure.

Hey Mate! Here's is your solution :

Note: See the attachment for more clearer information : )

Solution :

1] we will first plot the points :

A = (-4,4) , this point is plotted in the 2nd quadrant of the cartesian plane, See the first attachment

B = (-3,0) , this point is plotted in the second quadrant of the cartesian plane , See the first figure

C = (0,-3) , this point is plotted in the fourth quadrant of the cartesian plane, See the first figure

O = (0,0) , this point is the origin.

2] We have to reflect the points A and B along Y-axis :

A' = (4,4)

B' = (3,0)

These points are shown in the second attachment

3] The figure OABCA'B' is a Pentagon formed , See the attachment 3 for clearer information

4] As the two points (A and B) are duplicated on the other side of Y-axis , And C is lying on the Y-axis, then we can clearly state that A,A' ; B,B' and C,C are reflected along Y axis.

Hence, the line of symmetry of Polygon ABCA'B' is Y- axis

Hope this Answer help you !
