CATABOLISM:-

  • It is a metabolic chemical process used for breakdown of complex molecules to simple small molecules.
  • In this state body releases energy in different activities.
  • Exp. glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, the breakdown of muscle protein in order to use amino acids as. etc..

ANABOLISM:-

  • It is a metabolic chemical process used to build molecules required for the energy to do different activities by the body.
  • Anabolism is in function during rest or sleep.
  • Exp. gluconeogenesis etc..

HOPE IT HELP...

THANKU..

Catabolism

\bigstar The destructive metabolic process in which complex molecules are broken down into simpler molecules is known as catabolism.

\bigstar The metabolic process releases energy.

\bigstar Hormones like adrenaline, glucagon, and cortisol involves in this process.

\bigstar Catabolism helps in burning fats and calories.

Example : Cellular Respiration.

Anabolism

\bigstar The constructive metabolic process in which complex molecules are formed from simpler molecules are known as anabolism.

\bigstar The anabolic process requires energy.

\bigstar Hormones like insulin, growth hormones , estrogen and testosterone involves in this process.

\bigstar Anabolism helps in muscle growth.

Example : Photosynthesis
