Advantages:

Easier to communicate certain information in certain conditions

People don’t need to have good memory they can just rely on reading/writing

People being literate just look better as compared to illiterate people.

Improved literacy can contribute to economic growth; reduce poverty; reduce crime; promote democracy; increase civil engagement; prevent HIV/AIDS and other diseases through information provision; enhance cultural diversity through literacy programmes in minority languages
