Facebook, currently the greatest social media platform. Its popularity can be determined by the craze of it among youth. Even children below 16 are using Facebook and are literally addicted to it. So now if Facebook is a social media platform, then how can it be responsible for urban loneliness? The answer is simple, whenever someone is free, he/she uses social media. He/she doesn't care for their real life friends, families and close ones. This is how they become lone in reality but mingle with others on a virtual life. This loneliness itself is not good for youths because they need to know more about the real world. They should be spending time with their comrades but instead, they are stick with facebook. Loneliness may also refer to that they are too free to stuck with facebook. They are really lonely in reality that's why just time passing on it. That's a true fact that Facebook gives us many friends and helps us to know more about the people from abroad but it is not false either that facebook shrinks our real life peer group.
Talking about advantages, we can say that yes facebook truly is a good thing of entertainment or one may say, timepass. Facebook helps us to gain information also. Social medias have become more faster than the original media. Sometimes, one may find a person who is just as the same as him in behaviour and thinking. This helps a person to feel good and generates somewhat positiveness. Facebook also provides a platform to interact with other people, get to know more about them, their culture, their cuisine and all without even going very far! This is the biggest advantage of Facebook and this is the biggest reason also why social medias are way popular.
Just like every coin has two sides, facebook itself has its disadvantages. Facebook is a social media which needs internet to work on and internet needs computer, mobiles to work up with. Thus, no doubt that facebook seriously affects our eyes. Facebook attracts youth towards it and they spend a huge time on it which they could have utilised it in learning something new, something helpful! Some months ago, it was a breaking news that how facebook was leaking data of its users, which is surely not good. Thus, we can say that facebook causes a serious damage to our privacy. Many a times crimes happens because of Facebook. Children usually keep a status like "Home alone today. Enjoying". And some crooks who are their facebook friends and know their address or something, they actually come their home and invade as much as they can. This is not a fiction but reality. Many people create fake ids and behave as they are girls and get critical information about a person and then attack them. This is what we call a "honey trap"
Conclusion :- Facebook is great platform for interacting with people abroad but we should not give away our private informations on Facebook. Facebook is under our control but we should not become a slave of it. If one uses it wisely, then yes, it is good for him.
