Birthdays are a celebration of being born again. It brings the delight in the whole family and help us commemorate the gift of life that Lord has given to us. We celebrate each birthday with a different year, live each day with a new sunshine, that's all because of the gift of birthdays.

★ WHY DO WE CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS?
☆ Birthdays are joyous. They make us look behind the years that have passed, the lives that we lived, and the memories we shared. It gives us time to commemorate God and appraise him for the life he gave to us, for the next year he gave while many of them could not enjoy it. It adds to the beauty of the soul and purity of the heart.
How did the celebration of birthdays came up is about a long time ago. It was believed that the Pagans, that belonged to the Pagan civilization had introduced it and were the first to celebrate birthdays.
Many of us do not celebrate birthdays thinking that the upcoming of the birthdays suggest that we get one year near to our deaths. Well, those are pessimists. The optimistic thinkers treat it to be the upheavel of a new year, it carries it with the cherished memories of the past year, and the beginning that we have.

We will have to get out of everything and prove ourselves to be the best of our capabilities. We will have to be influential and interactive. We shall be possessing leadership qualities. And above all this, rests that they should have a feeling of oneness among each other and be patient to listen to their fellow beings.

★ WHICH GIFT WOULD SATISFY THE PERSON?
☆ Mmmm.............this answer rests to the one whom you are gifting. It actually depends on who is the individual and how is he/she. => To tell you, Birthdays are the specific days where a specific person is born. Usually Birthdays are celebrated as a grand celebration because people want the person's day to be special as he was born on that day which made his/her family happy and blessed.
=> Another reason birthdays are celebrated as when a person's birthday arrives, That day a person becomes an year older than before. People feel happy when someone grows as they will soon learn their responsibilities, have more matured mind and will understand better as they were before.
Coming to your question>>>
1) Why do we celebrate birthdays?
=> As I told you above, It makes one feel happy that he/she had born on that day. People want him/her to feel happy and special and tell them that he/she has importance in other's life hence, People like to celebrate birthdays.
2) Importance of celebrating birthdays.
=> Actually Birthdays are celebrated as a remembrance of a specific person. This makes feel the celebrator and the Birthday boy/girl happy and pleased as the celebrator made the birthday boy/girl's day special and happy and the birthday boy/girl is happy and pleased as he feels that the celebrator gives him/her importance and wants him/her to be happy always.
3) How can people remember our birthday date as we remember some dates of great people like Gandhi, Nehru etc.
=> This is the most interesting question which I liked about. Well, we know the birth dates of great people like M.K.Gandhi, Chacha Nehru as they had contributed a lot for our Mother India to be free from British where they had even bet their life for it. Their efforts,contributions,hard work for the freedom struggle cannot be paid so easily and because of them we are here with our democratic country with our own Government, Leaders etc.
=> To show the respect and love to them from the bottom of our heart, we remember their birthdays and show great respect to them on that day as a great inspirational person was born on that day. Often Now a days people give great respect to them by keep a minute of silence and also by garlanding their protrait and also singing devotional songs in the memory of them.
=> Now if you say how your friends remember your birthday then this shows that they love you and they care for you. This shows that they really have importance to you. You being lucky to have such friends and they are lucky to have a good friend like you so they want your birthday to be special as you will be happy with them and they also want you to be happy with them.
4) What gifts will satisfy the person.
=> According to me if you even give a flower with love to your friend or someone special, They will be happy with you. Other than that, If you want to give a gift you can give whatever they like or wish to have. If you don't know what they like you can ask them some days before of their birthday. This will make them not to have an idea for what you are asking and also will surprise them when you give the gift.
=> After all giving gift also is not a must, Love from you,helping the one in their needs,feeling them that they are precious for you will be the best gift which cannot be given by someone else!
