A plane figure bounded by four line segments.
A quadrilateral is a two dimensional figure with four sides. It is also termed as polygon.
It has four sides, two diagonals and four vertices.
It is written as quad. ABCD or □ABCD.
In a quad. ABCD, we have ;
1️⃣ The points A, B, C, D are called the vertices of quad. ABCD.
2️⃣ The line segments AB, BC, CD and Da are called the sides of quad. ABCD.
3️⃣ The line segments AC and BD are called the diagonals of quad. ABCD.
4️⃣ Two sides of a quadrilateral having a common end point, are called its consecutive are adjacent sides.
(AB, BC), (BC, CD), (CD, DA) and (DA, AB) are four pairs of adjacent sides of quad. ABCD.
5️⃣ Two sides of a quadrilateral having no common end point are called its opposite sides.
(AB, CD) and ( AD, BC) are two pairs of opposite sides of quad. ABCD.

Q: What is Quadrilateral ?
A closed figure bounded by four line segments is called a quadrilateral. A quadrilateral PQRS has the following elements. ( see the figure)
✯Four vertices P, Q, R and S.
✯Four sides PQ, QR, RS and SP.
✯Four angles ∠P, ∠Q, ∠R and ∠S.
✯Two diagonals PR and QS.
✯Four pairs of adjacent sides (PQ, QR), (QR, RS), (RS, SP) and (QR, PS).
✯Two pairs of opposite sides (PQ, QR) and (QR, PS).
✯Four pairs of adjacent angles (∠P, ∠Q), (∠Q, ∠R), (∠R, ∠S) and (∠S, ∠P).
✯Two pairs of opposite sides (∠P, ∠R) and (∠Q, ∠S).
✯The sum of the four angles of a quadrilateral is 360°
