because in Forest there are magnetic rocks since magnetic compass works on the principle of magnets and the poles of earth act as two large magnets and it works on their bases, because of a number of magnetic rocks the magnetic compass will show continuous deflection and it will not work properly in the forest .

Most forests  can be surrounded with mountains having magnetic rocks, or the forest itself might have magnetic rocks... in this case, the compass won’t be able to identify the difference between the earths magnetic field and that of the rocks effect. Although this doesn’t apply always, u can’t assume that the compass will be right. ✔️
