Answer:

Option(b) - sin⁻¹ (1/4)

Explanation:

Given, Wavelength = 5500 A.

λ = 5500

First minimum is observed at angle 30°.

We know that :

First minimum in diffraction  b sinθ = nλ

∴ b sin 30° = 1 * 5500

⇒ b * 1/2 = 5500

⇒ b = 11000 A.

Now,

For maxima in diffraction b sinθ = (n + 1/2)λ

∴ b sinθ = λ/2

⇒ 11000 * sinθ = (5500)/2

⇒ 11000 * sinθ = 2750

⇒ sinθ = (2750/11000)

⇒ sinθ = (1/4)

⇒ θ = sin⁻¹ (1/4)

Therefore,

Angle θ = sin⁻¹ (1/4)

Hope it helps!
