Answer :

Free and fair elections are one of the basic features of a democracy. Elections just for the name sake is not enough.Such elections are conducted in China.They do not offer any real choice to the voters.People are the most important aspect of a democracy. They should decide their leaders.Then only that will be a true election and democracy.
