HEYA!!     HERE IS YOUR ANSWER,     > Magnets are one of a crt tv's worst enemy. They gererally take weeks to do this damage. Then it is permanet. > This is dependant on how powerful the magnet is. Newer sets automatically de magnitize the set each time the set is turned on and off.   HOPE IT HELPS YOU, THANK YOU.☺️

Hiiiiii........

Here is your answer.....

Holding magnets near the CRT motor damages the screen. here i wanna talk about the television screen ....

The chassis of a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) television is its very cathode ray tube. The cathode rays i.e. the electrons from the cathode are focused and accelerated using a combination of electric and magnetic field setup inside the cathode ray tube. These rays when focused to bombard the fluorescent screen of the television, we see the pictures on the television. If a sufficiently strong magnet is placed near the television then the magnetic field of the magnet may distort the accurate focusing of electron beams by magnetic field inside the tube thereby distorting the picture on the screen.

we can also add here that the colour distrotions that may be seen on a CRT are not due to electrons accumulating somewhere inside the tube; this problem (poor color purity, also known as “beam mislanding”) results from part of the CRT structure (generally, either the mounting hardware or shadow mask itself) becoming magnetized that thus interfering with the proper path of the electron beams within the tube. Degaussing, either using the built-in degauss coil or an external one (sometimes needed for more difficult cases) randomizes this magnetism and thus fixes the problem; no electrons are harmed in the process! ;-)

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.......
