The festival of Holi is celebrated every year by the full moon of Falgun Mas. This festival has special religious, mythological and social significance. A legend is famous for celebrating this festival. In ancient times, the Asur king, Hiranyakashipu, was able to conquer Brahma’s boon and his death with his power. Predictably he started to think himself invincible. All because of his fear, he used to worship in the form of God but his son Prahlad was supposed to believe in God. When all attempts to break his god worship were unsuccessful, Hiranyakaship ordered his sister Holika to take Prahlad in the lap and sit in the flames of burning fire, because the bonfire did not have the boon to burn in the fire. But because of strong faith in Prahlad’s God, his hair did not grow too, but Holika itself became ashes. From then on, Holika combustion is traditionally celebrated on the full moon day of every Fallgun month.
On the day of HolikaDhahan, there is a Holi of colors which is also called dulhadi. On this day children, old and young play holi forgetting all mutual hostilities. All become drunk in the color of Holi. They put color on each other and used gulal. The traditional Holi of Braj is world famous, for people who come from abroad to see it. Colorful faces are seen all around this day. The whole atmosphere becomes colorful. Afternoon, wear all new clothes. Holi meeting ceremonies are organized at many places. In addition to this, people go to friends and relatives and criticize Gular and Abir and greet each other with their best wishes. On this occasion, there is a gathering of humorous poet conventions at various places, which gives four moons to the significance of this festival. Various TVs Channels promote their audience by broadcasting them.
The festival of Holi is a festival of love and goodwill, but some anti-social elements often try to corrupt it with their malicious emotions. They try to spoil the environment by using mud, dung or varnish in place of the colors. Sometimes drinking alcohol and trying to tamper with women and women. We must be cautious of such anti-social elements. It is necessary that we all come together to oppose it so that the holiness of the festival is not destroyed.
The holy festival of Holi brings the message that man forgets his jealousy, hatred and mutual mistrust and adopts the attitude of love and equality. Join laughter and celebration in this festival of fun and entertainment, and inspire others to get involved. This festival is our cultural heritage. It is the duty of all of us to maintain the original sentiment so that future generations can be proud.
