Answer:

Explanation:

John Gained a day as:-

  • When we move eastwards, there 9s a boundary known as International Date Line

This date line is made such that :-

  • If a person is crossing the line before with date 3rd January, when it crosses the International Date line , the person has to consider the date as 4th January

In The Eastern Case of England:-

  • The person gained a day because the time zone of England and the neighbouring countries are different
  • Maybe the person was crossing the time zone before 12 in England but when he went to neighbouring Eastern country, the time changed and hence it was assumed that he went after one date.
  • Due to change in Time zones the date also changed and hence the statement says that The person gained a Day.

More about IDL:-

  • INTERNATIONAL DATE LINE is situated between the Pacific Ocean on western side of North American Continent and Eastern side of Japan
  • When moving west, the date decreases
  • When moving east, date change increases.
