iron reacts more than gold and this is the reason why it combines with other metals and is not forming free state. gold doesn't easily react it is very less reactive in comparison to iron.

now again iron is more reactive than copper and this reactivity is what allows it to displace copper. have a look at the reactivity searies of metal you will get to know. a less reactive metal cannot displace a more reactive metal . copper is less reactive than iron.

White phosphorus is highly reactive, and spontaneously ignites at about 30°C in moist air. It is usually stored under water, to prevent exposure to the air.

all of it is the game of reactivity.

Sodium and Potassium are highly reactive metals and react vigorously with the oxygen, carbon dioxide and moisture present in the air such that it may even cause a fire. To prevent this explosive reaction, Sodium is kept immersed in kerosene because Sodium doesn't react with kerosene.

i hope i am able to make you understand.

Answer:

hey mate!

hey mate!here is your answer

  1. Gold is the least reactive metal. It does not react with O, C ,CO3 - etc. to form any compound and hence alwaysfound in free state.
  2. Iron doesnt react with water but reactswith steam on prolonged exposure.sodium reacts violently with cold water (as well as air) as it is a highly reactive metal whereas iron does notas it is not so reactive.
  3. In the reactivity table copper is less reactive than iron.So copper can not replace iron from its salt solution by the property a more reactive can replace a less reactive metal from a salt solution but a less reactive metal cannot replace a more reactive metal than the less reactive metal from the less reactive metal's salt solution.
  4. Phosphorus is poisonous and can spontaneously ignite when it comes in contact with air. That's why its stored underwater to prevent its contact with air.

5. Sodium is a very reactive metal. It is kept in kerosene to prevent it from coming in contact with oxygen and moisture.
