Homer is driving his car at a constant speed of 108 km/h and passes Chief Wiggum who is sitting in his police cruiser having a donut. Four seconds after Homer passes Wiggum's stationary police car, Wiggum sets off in chase after Homer with a constant acceleration of 3.0m/s², At what distance relative to the Chief's starting position does Wiggum catch Homer?

u=108km/hr

=30m/s

t=4sec

a = 4m \: per \: s ^{2}

According to the second equation of motion ,

s = ut + 1 \div 2 \times at ^{2}

s = 120 +32 = 152m

Therefore, the required distance is 152 m
