this can be written as : 3x+x=8 or, 4x=8 or, x= 8/4=2                                            therefore if x is 2 then 3x is 6

let the digit at tens place be x,
therefore, the digit at unit place is 3x
also x+3x=8
i,e, 4x=8
i.e. x=2
i.e. digit at tens place=x=2
and digit at unit place=3x=6
i.e. the required number=26
