Its obviously true that Horace Danby was good and respectable but not completely honest. He did not have any major violations. Even he was arrested earlier but that too 15 years ago. He was a safe maker and lead a peaceful life. But he had a different hobby that is the collection of new and expensive books. Though his hobby was good but his method to accomplish was not at all fair.

In order to accomplish his hobby he used to rob a safe every year. That is why he wasn't completely honest.

He cannot be categorised as a typical thief because, thiefs mostly rob money for their personal grievances and they can rob anytime. But Horace used to rob only once a year and that too complete his hobby.
