- hypothalamus produces neurohormones(formed by secretory neurons)
- they are of two types :-
- 1. releasing hormones 2. inhibitory hormones
- hypotalamus are passed on to pitutary gland for controlling its activity.
- it lies at the floor of diencephalon.
