Off Her Rocker

Annette sits in her favorite rocking chair, by a big window. A gloomy afternoon.

She cradles her dead baby in her pale arms. Hair as white as a ghost. Lips cracked and bleeding. Her body fragile and weak.

She sings a familiar tune. Rocking back and forth, as if trying to put the baby to sleep.

Her watch beeps. Medicine time. She throws the bottle out the window.

The Devil calls her name. She stops her singing. Her body freezes.

“He made me do it. He made me do it. He made me do it…” She repeats.

The devil exists.

                                      "Hide and Seek"

Long long ago, there was a family living in Sussex, England. This family consisted of 2 kids, one boy and a girl, along with their parents. One kid was named Ellen, and the girl was named Eliza. They were happy and lived a cheerful life. But not for long.

               One Sunday, Ellen's and Elisa's parents had an important meeting. They couldn't take their kids along. So they asked Ellen and Eliza to stay back and be good children without creating a mess. Both the kids nodded.

And their parents left. After a while, the kids thought of playing Hide and Seek. And Ellen decided to count, while Elisa thought of hiding. So Ellen turned his head towards the wall and began to count.

                 After he was done, he shouted, "Can I come? Did you hide? I'm coming.." He didn't get any reply. So he started searching for his sister, Elisa. He looked in all common places, behind the curtains, under the bed and sofa, inside the store room, in the balcony, and where not?

He couldn't find Elisa. He was frightened, he was over thinking. He sat on the sofa, and thought hard about all the common places where Elisa would always hide. He suddenly heard a shrieking sound. The moment was hair-raising for him.

He slowly got up, and searched for that person who was shrieking. The sound was lost. His sister was also lost. He didn't know what to do. He sat feeling scared and tears rolled down his cheeks. His fair face turned red.

After a while, he saw his sister coming towards him. He was extremely happy seeing her. He slowly gotta know that his sister was the one who was making shrieking sounds to scare her brother. Ellen hugged Eliza tight, and asked her not to repeat it again.
