Because the particles of air  become  warm and move away from each other and take up more space. And  air on becoming hot occupies more space. Since the particles move away from each other, the air becomes less dense and lighter in weight. As a result, warm air rises up.

Take a balloon and a helium gas tank.fill the balloon with helium gas .

Tie it and leave it in an open ground.that is actually how a hot air balloon works but in hot air balloon we heat the helium gas inside the balloon to make it even more lighter.
