In hot condition, solutions dissolve more amount or quantity of salt,hence,  a hot solution of potassium nitrate has more salt dissolved in it compared to the solution at ambient temperature.

When hot saturated potassium nitrate solution becomes cold, the amount of salt that can remain in solution reduces. Like that time some of the potassium nitrates begins to precipitate out of solution in the form of crystals.
