Given,

Room occupied \[ = 25\% \]

Available room \[ = 20\]

Solution,

Consider total number of rooms are x.

Room occupied \[ = 25\% \]

Percentage of room available,

\[\begin{array}{l} = 100\% - 25\% \\ = 75\% \end{array}\]

Calculate the total number of rooms in hotel.

\[75\% x = 20\]

\[ \Rightarrow \frac{{75}}{{100}} \times x = 20\]

\[ \Rightarrow \frac{3}{4} \times x = 20\]

\[ \Rightarrow x = \frac{{80}}{3}\]

\[ \Rightarrow x = 26.667\]

Number of room can never be in decimal.

\[ \Rightarrow x = 27\]

Total number of room \[ = 27\]

Calculate the number of room sold.

\[\begin{array}{l} = 27 - 20\\ = 7\end{array}\]

Hence the number of rooms sold are \[7\]
