Our immune system may be referred
to small bands of Japanese "holdout"
soldiers after World War II. Find out why?

I thank you for asking that question.

  • For understanding this we must understand who Japanese holdouts were?

     1. They were the soldiers of the imperial Japan army who had not surrendered a war in spite of the army surrendering, this could be either because they did not trust the news that the army has surrendered or because they yet did not get the news because of lack of communication. So they mistakenly continue warring with others even after there has been peace among all, which of course has been done mistakenly and not intentionally.

Similarly,

    2. When our immune system gets pretty tough and rough and has been warring with the pathogens, the pathogens are removed and there is peace between our body and the no disease state. But due to a mistake or some other reason our immune system act like the Japanese holdouts and accidentally attack the peacemakers-healthy cells which had already peacefully surrendered like the entire body had.

HOPE THIS HELPS ^_^
