The population is more in Allahabad town because in this town two river meet which makes the land fertile which increases the food production. It also giver water as a supplier to village.

Allahabad being situated in the plains of Ganga fulfilled every basic need of masses since its establishment in the 16th century whereas Jaisalmer is in the great Thar desert which has harsh conditions to live in with very less water and vegetation.If we compare both places Jaisalmer is 400 years older than Allahabad but later grown faster than former due to availability of water, forests and due to its special position in fertile ganga-yamuna doab
