Answer:We generally concentrate on making our house clean and neat. Most of the people perform cleaning only within the boundaries of our property . But, what about the streets in which we are living? We don’t prefer picking up the dirt or debris in the areas surrounding our home. Actually most of us don’t have time to do that work. Street cleaning is usually conducted by your county or the town you live in. They are called street sweepers. Even though their main work remains the same, that is picking up the trash on the streets, their working methods varies.

Various ways of working of street sweepers:

Some of them work with brushes for junk removal Northern va and some clean the streets with air. Industrial brushes are available which are used by the sweepers. Using the brushes, the trash on the roads is picked up on to a conveyor belt, and then it leads to the storage container. Instead of a cylindrical brush, some of them use a vacuum like mechanism and this mechanism sucks the dirt into the container.

Regenerative sweepers:

Air jets are produced, by the hydraulic systems, in order to stir up the dirt which is present on the road. Then the debris is carried to the center of the truck. In order to swirl the dirt into the hopper, that is present at the rear of the sweeper, a vacuum is created under the truck by the negative air pressure. Then the air in the hopper is cleaned and then recycled so that the air loosens debris on the street and to suppress the dust, water is sprayed.

Cleaning of roads by modern sweepers:

• The design of the modern street sweeper machines is complex. They are of high efficiency machines.

• These machines have a large number of moving parts which work together to keep our environment clean and dirt free.

• These are energized by heavy duty diesel engines as they ensure longer service life. They also have hydraulic systems forcing air or high pressure jets of water squirting.

• They may also have brooms which spin at extremely high speed in the range of 4000 revolutions per minute.

• Spinning brooms are in use in specific areas like industrial regions, where there is an essential requirement for the removal of particular matter.

• They are smaller in size than the other sweeping machines used for roads or high ways.

• In these spinning brooms, vacuum inside the hopper is used to move the debris into the hopper.

They can pick up debris from anywhere:

The machines used by street sweepers, not only remove dirt from the streets but they can also be used on any surface. These machines are of many sizes. Locations which are small with tight turns use smaller sweepers. Large trucks are used on construction sites, highways and municipal streets.
