Answer: The question is taken from the story The Banyan Tree written by Ruskin Bond. The boy says "House and grounds were of Grand fathers domain But the magnificent old banyan tree was maine" for his grandfather.

As he is of 65 years and he is no more able to climb up the tree. The banyan tree was the resident for squirrels, snails and butterflies.

Answer:

The boy told this so because his Grandfather was very old as his age was 65 and he could climb the Banyan tree anymore. The boy was very fond of that Banyan tree because it was the house for Mayana, Squirrel and they became friend with that boy. The boy never harmed the animals of that tree instead he loved them and always sat near the tree to watch the activity of animals that gave him an adventure.
