See anything which has hydrogen ie. H in it is an acid. Eg- HCl
eg- H2SO4, HNO3
Anything which has OH ie. hydroxide in it is called a base.
Eg- NaOH,KOH, Ca(OH)2.
Anything which is formed by reaction of 2 equally strong acid and base or 2 equally weak acid and base is neutral or salt.
Acid+Base gives you Salt+H20
HCL+NaOH----> NaCl+H20

1) ACIDS-blue litmus paper will turn red.
2)BASES-red litmus paper will turn blue.
2)NEUTRAL-no change in litmus paper.

if the red litmus change its colour in solutions it is acid
