how 23*4*4 gives 368 but 23*8 gives 184??

because 4*4 = 16 which is the square of 4 , multiple with 23...... case 1

23*8 gives 184

because 8=4*2 which happens when 4 multiple with 2 ........ case 2

Which means 4 is adding himself four times ; 4+4+4+4 or 4*4 = 16

and

in case 2 , 4 is adding himself 2 times ;

4+4 or 4*2.
