The car or the vehicle runs by the energy released in the engine by burning fuel. The chemical energy of the fuel is converted into heat energy which moves the piston. The linear motion of the piston is converted into rotational motion of the shaft which rotates the wheel. And thus the car runs. In this way the car and the vehicle works. Its main component is its engine which provide the driving force. I hoped it helpful for u plzzz marks as brillant answer.

An engine or motor is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy.[1][2] Heat engines, including internal combustion engines and external combustion engines (such as steam engines), burn a fuel to create heat, which then creates a forceElectric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical motion;pneumatic motors use compressed air and others—such as clockwork motors in wind-up toys—use elastic energy. In biological systems, molecular motors, like myosinsin muscles, use chemical energy to create forces and eventually motion.
