All firearm uses the basic principles. First, the trigger is pulled, then causing a firing pin to strike the primer, the primer fire up the gunpowder and the flaming powder generates pressure, the pressure pushes the bullet down the barrel and out the muzzle.
In general, then, a semi-automatic pistol carries between 7 and 18 “bullets”, depending on the size of the gun and the caliber, if one round is carried in the chamber. Revolvers typically accommodate between 5 and 10 rounds, depending on caliber.
