How a plant reproduce by sexual reproduce
Answers
Plants reproduce sexually by the formation of male and female gametes in their respective gonads. Male gametes also called pollens are produced in male gametophyte and female gametes are produced in female gametophyte. Male gametes/pollens are transferred to female gametes through pollination. After pollination, fertilization occurs by the transfer of sperm form the pollen to the ovule via pollen tube. Zygote that develop grows into embryo that form seed. The other sperm fertilizes the 2n polar nuclei to form 3n endosperm tissue that provides nutrition to the zygote.
THE SEXUAL REPRODUCTION IN PLANTS TAKE PLACE IN THE FOLLOWING STEPS:-
(1). The male organ of flower called 'stamen' make the male gametes (male sex cells) of plants . These male gametes are present in pollen grains.
(2) . The female organ of a flower called 'carpel'makes the female gametes of the plant . These female gametes are present in ovules. The female gametes present in ovules are also called ova.
(3). The male gametes present in pollen grains fertilies the female gametes present in ovules.
(4). The fertilies egg cell grow within ovules and become seeds.
(5). tHe seed produce new plants on germination (under suitable condition of water, warmth, air and light etc.).
