Most star reflect the light of the other stars present around them while some other star have different types of gasses which are inflammable and help the star to burn. For example, The sun has ample amount of fule and hydrogen to keep burning and on the other hand the moon reflects the sun's light to the earth. But note that the moon is not a star.
