Addiction is a serious global phenomenon. An addict does not have the same emotional connect as a normal human does. This leads to a socially erratic behaviour, no attachment to job, house, parents or children. A total lack of responsibility can be associated with an addict.

An addict can be easily identified among a group of people by his looks and appearance. He / She would look thin, emaciated, cachexic, needle marks on the body, unkept, shabby.

An addict would only be thinking of how to get his next fix. His or her whole thought process would revolve around ways and methods to procure the drug at that very moment. They would not mind spending everything for that momentary satisfaction. This leads to no savings, no responsibilities and most of the addicts can be seen living on the streets or subways.
