How ai is different from conventional computing system?

Conventional computing system says that there would be a user and the input would be manually given which after processing will produce the output.... But in the system of AI the inputs are given manually but mostly voice commands, and moreover the AI is capable to adjust itself and do a lot of work by itself without the instruction of the user....
For example, you have a robot... after returning from school you don't need to say serve the lunch it will do itself without your command
