Amoeba obtains its food by the process of Endocytosis. It has a flexible membrane. Amoeba engulfs the food particle with the help of pseudopodia and then forms a vacuole around it. When the particle is completely trapped, the amoeba secretes digestive enzymes that digests the food.

In short but long

Amoebas take in nutrients via phagocytosis and pinocytosis. Phagocytosis is what occurs when an amoeba surrounds a solid food particle with its pseudopods to form a vacuole (known as a phagosome) in which digestion of the food particle then occurs
