Because amoeba undergoes simple binary fission and multiple binary fission under extreme conditions and divides it's body into two offsets and the process goes on. That's why growth and reproduction are synonymous in amoeba and henceforth considered as immortal

Answer:

Amoeba is immortal since it is a unicellular organism and undergo asexual reproduction(i.e., binary fission ) so the organism produced are clone of their parent and since clones have genetic material identical to their parent so genetic material is not lost and in biology for unicellular organisms death refers to complete loss of genetic material  therefore amoeba is not said to be dead.
