How an oh group attached to a carbon in benzene ring activate benzene towards electrophilluc substitution?

OH is an electron DONATING group only in case of benzene ( which is more electronegative in nature). Hence the electron density increases in aryl group and it becomes readily available for electrophilic substitution reaction.
