Woodblock printing became popular due to following reasons :
- Firstly this was one of the most easiest and cheapest method for production of textbooks.
- Less labour work and time was required and the work was completed in much shorter span of time which made woodblock printing very popular in Europe.
- Heavy manuscripts couldn't be carried everywhere and thus woodblock printing evolved in a very high ratio to solve this problem as it was very convenient.
