how and why is the ASI restoring the baolis?

baolis were used to store water and then water was taken to to the farms for irrigation . baolis were usually filled with rainwater also insuring rain water harvesting . the ASI is restoring baolis as they were considered important in ancient times as well as it may remove water scarcity to some extent .

ASI is restoring the baolis by conserving them using less water from it and they r restoring because in case if in future the ground water level decreases there will be no baolis present in future so from now they r trying to restore them.
