Antacids work by counteracting (neutralising) the acid in your stomach. They do this because the chemicals in antacids are bases (alkalis) which are the opposite of acids.

Answer: if it helps u plZZz mark it as brain list answer plzzzzz

Explanation:

Our stomach produces hydrochloric acid during digestion. Sometimes it releases too much acid which causes pain and irritation. It is also called acidity. To get rid of this pain and irritation we use miled base called antacid. Being a Base it neutralizes the excess acid produced by our stomach. Which gives relief from pain and irritation.
